Ferro Molybdenum is an alloy which is formed by combining Iron & Molybdenum. Ferro Moly is a hardening agent & is found in many alloy steels. Molybdenum prevents corrosion in Stainless steel and when mixed with Iron, it also hardens & strengthens into austenite. The alloy is produced by heating/melting a mixture of Molybdenum Oxide & Iron. It can be produced in an Induction/Arc furnace or by aluminothermic reaction. It is added to Molten steel before casting. Ferro Molybdenum comes in many grades, but the Molybdenum content mostly varies between 60 – 75%.
Ferro Vanadium is usually produced from Vanadium sludge (or titanium bearing magnetite ore processed to produce pig iron) & available in the range V: 50 – 85%. Ferro Vanadium acts as a universal hardener, strengthener & anti-corrosive additive for steels like High strength low alloy steel, tool steel, as well as other ferrous-based products. Ferro Titanium is a ferro alloy that is made of elements, such as titanium and iron, with occasional trace carbon. In the induction furnace, titanium bearing material along with iron or steel is melted to obtain Ferro Titanium. It forms insoluble compounds by reacting with sulfur, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen. This ferro alloy has high strength, low density and good resistance against corrosion. Several titanium bearing materials are titanium scrap, leucoxene, rutile, titanium sponge, ilmenite, etc. Ferro titanium of several grades and specifications are produced ny either melting the titanium bearing material in induction furnace or by aluminothermic method. Different grades can be produced, each has specific applications, for instance:
Ferro Niobium is an amalgam, which is framed by consolidating iron and niobium with a niobium content scope of 60-70%. Ferro Niobium is the main alloying specialist utilized for high-quality low-amalgam (HSLA) steel. Ferro Niobium can viably twofold the quality and strength, just as diminish the heaviness of the combination, it is an exceptionally alluring compound.
Ferro Niobium is used mainly to increase the strength of the alloys, including:
