In order to make up for the carbon content in the iron and steel
smelting process due to factors such as smelting time, holding time, and
long overheating time, the carbon-containing substances added are called
carbon raiser.
There are many types of carbon raiser, which can be generally divided
into metallurgical coke carbon raiser, calcined coal carbon raiser,
petroleum coke carbon raiser, graphitizing carbon raiser, natural
graphite carbon raiser, and composite carbon raiser. Graphitization can
reduce the content of impurities in the carbon raiser, increase the
carbon content of the carbon raiser, and reduce the sulfur content. When
casting, it can greatly increase the amount of scrap steel, reduce the
amount of pig iron and even no pig iron. Therefore, graphitized carbon
raiser is the high-quality carbon raiser.
